great for fabric storage
learned at a quilt show that the best way to store quilting fabric is to wrap it around a 8.5 inch wide ruler (X 24 inch) and then slip out the ruler. fold the wrapped fabric in half and it is now the size of a piece of paper and fits in these boxes perfect.

Careful!
While unloading these, one fell on my driveway, and the corner of the lid cracked badly. Now that I’m aware of this, I am much more gentle w/them. They are great for hauling crafts and sewing supplies.
I smoothed out the broken corner w/some clear packing tape. It’s still useable, just not pretty.

Excellent for Storing Letter Sized Files, Other Items
I have purchased many of these File Boxes. They are extremely sturdy, strong, & they stack well without tipping over or sliding off (up to 3 high at least). They don't seem to be brittle.
I usually use them for storing manila folders of letter size papers. I can also use them for storing craft supplies, medicines, clothing, or anything else.
I originally purchased several different plastic boxes for comparison. These worked best for storing letter size manila folders and papers.

Solid file folder box. These also stack really well and take up less space than the larger file boxes with flimsy lids. I’ve also dropped this already (whoops! 😬) and no cracking!
