- The Top Notch Water-Soluble Marking Pencil Set is a collection of 3 water-soluble marking pencils in assorted colors and patterns. This set of marking pencils includes both dark and light colors for marking various types and colors of fabrics. Use these sewing accessories to mark exactly where to sew hems, seams, darts, or pleats, to outline fabric patterns before cutting, or to mark where to cut buttonholes. Pencils are water soluble, and markings should wash out easily when garments are machine washed in cold water on a color setting. Avoid making heavy marks, and always test mark on an extra swatch of fabric just to be sure that the marking can be removed from the type of fabric you are using. Not recommended for dry clean only fabrics. Perfect for seamstresses, tailors, and dressmakers, these water-soluble marking pencils are a great addition to any set of sewing supplies.

Surprisingly poor quality
These pencils do not show up on any color fabric!! You have to press really hard and go back and forth many times to even see a mark on the fabric. Perhaps I got a defective batch? I don't understand how a pencil does not work!! I definitely do not recommend these.

I would not bother with these. They just wouldn’t show up on any fabrics. I would go with regular chalk or a fabric marking marker. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I was not impressed.
