works well for costumes too!
I make a lot of costumes and this is my favorite fabric for steampunk bloomers. It washes up well and lasts longer than plain cotton. Good value if you buy it on sale.

Love this fabric!
I have used it to make a full apron and it's lovely to work with. Washes well and the fabric feels soft, yet durable. I've also used it for pockets with a denim apron and it co-ordinates beautifully.

Country perfection
I was having a hard time finding ticking fabric for my sons nursery. I needed enough for a crib skirt, wall decor, and changing pad. I was able to order just what I needed on line and was able to pick it up in store! The fabric is perfect! It has a slight stretch to the fabric which allows for great movement. It's soft enough to use on the changing pad cover for my new little one. The off white is just right, not to "dingy" looking but more like the perfect tea stain. The navy ticking stripe does have a slight violet hue but overall comes across navy. We have since delivered our newest addition and his nursery is perfection!!

I ordered the fabric, along with 3 other fabrics, however this one was fold with black powdery dirt inside. This seems to have been quite deliberate for how would someone accidentally sprinkle lots of black charcoal-like powder onto the fabric, then fold it inward to keep it in place by "accident?"
The fabric may have been fine, but I only ordered one yard of it and when I unfolded it I found the large amount of dirt concealed inside.

FABRIC IS NICE .....but
FABRIC IS NICE.I have not washed the product so I can not tell you where that quality stands. It has a soft feel and you can not see through it. I was unable to use this for the intended duvet cover for a twin bed as it was delivered in 2 parts. totally blew the design of the room and had to regroup to another idea.
There should be some warning when ordering fabric over 10 yards as it will come in sections. I did call the online order department and that was what I was told. I did not return as it was a quality product that can be repurposed.

Utility Fabric / Ticking Great for Craft Sewing
I have purchased this utility fabric/ticking twice. I use it when sewing/quilting small crafts (i.e.: doll bedding, gift bags, zipper pouches, etc.). While I do need to be mindful of stretching; I love the simple striped look paired with bright, colorful quilting cottons.

Not utility weight!
Be aware that this is very thin cotton, and would certainly not be suitable for down pillows. Very disappointed with the purchase. Wish Joann's had stated the weight or not used the word "utility."
