Pretty but defective.
Bought for a costume but it had a few holes in it and a black streak running through an entire yard. Buyer beware, look at every inch before they cut it!

Beautiful fabric
I used 3 yards of this beautiful fabric to make a Bush Viper costume for my son, & it was the perfect look. (That kind of snake is brightly multi colored) The fabric itself is on the thinner side as you'd expect something like this to be, and it really helped my son stay cool during his "creature feature" presentation at school. And to quote him, "it's not girly at all! " The fabric truly can be used for more than a mermaid look! Highly recommend : )

I used this to create a Mera crossplay for a friend. Other than the occasional blip of the scales being a little hard to sew through, I absolutely adored this fabric. The fabric holds its form while being stretched and is not see through which is incredibly important for a body suit.

Stunning colours, but thin
I bought this fabric for a mermaid dress I wore to a convention. It held up well, and was comfortable even in hot weather. Cons? It was a thin material, and the black part is a little sheer. This fabric sews well, and photographs well, especially in natural light. It is stunning and the colours shimmer as I move. Absolutely beautiful, but a bit pricey. Still, better than the other mermaid fabrics at Joanns by far!

I bought this mermaid scale fabric a few weeks ago. Bought it to make a costume for my granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. The fabric is perfect, it's exactly what I needed. Iridescent finish on this just brings rest for costume all together and I thank you for such a fantastic fabric!

Stretchy but thin
I bought this fabric with the intentions of making my daughter's Halloween costume, she wants mermaid leggings. At first I didn't want to buy it, because although it is stretchy, and doesn't cause runs when you stretch it SO FAR, it is basically a nylon material with paint over it. Thinner than paper. I ended up buying it anyway because it's gorgeous and changes color between a purple, green and aqua blue.

So fun
I used this fabric to make mermaid leggings for a few nieces and they love them. The fabric is fairly stretchy and I love the way the color changes slightly with the angle. It says not to dry but I put it in the dryer on low before making the pants (because they'll probably get accidentally thrown in sometime and i wanted to see how they'd fair) and the fabric came out fine. I'm a little worried about the scales cracking a little after many uses and washings.
