Great material
Basswood is definitely a great material to work with - I am an architecture student, so I am constantly building models and basswood is a very sturdy and fairly workable material to choose. You have to be careful when cutting it, as it can splinter a little bit if you're not careful, but otherwise it's great. I haven't actually bought it from Joann's yet, but the next time I need it for a major project, I know where to find it for a cheaper price!
