Starting with a single retail store in Cleveland, Ohio, Jo-Ann has been delivering sewing and crafting products for over 65 years. Jo-Ann is the nation's largest specialty retailer of fabrics and one of the largest specialty retailers of crafts. Management-In-Training Program
The Jo-Ann approach is to build our leadership foundation through understanding business processes, team engagement and development. The Management-in-Training (MIT) Learning System is a structured, self directed, and competency ?based training program for store leadership. For external hires joining the Jo-Ann store Leadership Team, the Manager-In-Training Learning System provides comprehensive training that focuses on all leadership positions at store level. The MIT Learning System provides new Team Leaders with the skills and knowledge to be successful in each leadership position at each level. The MIT Learning System is designed to clarify job responsibilities and promote development within each store leadership position.
Internship Program
The Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores summer internship program is based in the Store Support Center in Hudson, Ohio. Our internships are designed to encourage relationship building, participation, teamwork and diversity across the entire company.
During the structured 12-week internship at Jo-Ann, you will acquire real-life career experience working with experts to learn about company and retail industry culture. This program allows you to participate in a variety of career development activities and assigns a corporate mentor that will work with you to provide guidance. In addition to obtaining a general operational knowledge of our business, you will work on department specific projects that will enable you to combine and apply your academic knowledge and experience to impact the department?s bottom line. At the completion of the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores summer internship program the interns will walk away with not only knowledge of the company and retail industry, but with professional relationships with industry experts.
