Confetti Dot Fabric is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Sparkle I love this fabric, especially for costumes! I've made headbands and hip scarves for belly dancing and gypsy scarves, because of the glitter and sparkle. This fabric is really easy to work with, but DON'T your good scissors to cut it, as the dots are plastic. Just like fleece, it will dull your scissors---so use a cheap pair. No need to hem or finish the ends, as the material doesn't unravel. You can even cut the ends of a hip scarf into fringe. Our troupe made simple dresses of this fabric, but it is somewhat scratchy under the arms and replacement sewing machine needles were needed. However, we looked spectacular on stage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sewing tips bought this (on sale) to make running skirts like the "Team Sparkle" skirts. The fabric does gum up a needle. I found several hints on a belly-dance costume forum that worked. I used a regular needle (size 11) NOT a ball-point needle. Wipe the needle down with something (Jo-Ann does make a product). The belly -dance folks mentioned frizz-ease hair serum -- I thought my daughters would have some, but I found biosilk Silk Therapy. I squeezed some on a paper towel and wiped the needle down between seams. I also tore several strips of wax paper and put the was paper between the presser foot and the fabric. Once I did this, I had no trouble sewing. Before I did this, I could not get the top thread to catch the bobbin thread

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Help for sticky needle I have used literally hundreds of yards of this over the years and finally found a solution to the residue on the needle. I keep a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and some cotton balls next to my machine. When the needle gets sticky I wipe off the needle with the alcohol. It dries very quickly, leaves no residue, and sewing goes much faster. Although the usable width of the fabric is narrow and you end up with a lot of waste, in the end, if you want bling and sparkle, it is worth the price and patience it takes to sew with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use some special techniques for best results This fabric adds a lot of bling for your buck - but sew carefully. The glue on the dots will really make your sm grumpy. Sandwich your fabric between layers of waxed paper to sew and wipe your needle (a 90 universal worked well) down with sm oil every few minutes. Use a longer stitch length and you're good to go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple trick great fabric, a simple trick I learned was to cut a thin piece of wax paper and lay along the seam to be sewn. It lubricates your needle and keeps the sequin glue from sticking to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ok material to use... just get the good stuff.. i use this material all the time... one of the best things that will help in sewing is use some kind of oil on the needle so the glue from the dots does not gum it up... i sometime use baby oil or what ever i can find... this material is very sturdy and should not rip... now if you are buying the material in the halloween section then you are purchasing a lower quality material and will rip or shred easier because it really is not intended on long term use... jds

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Confettie Dot Frabric-many colors I machined washed and dried the material after sewing and wearing my shirt. I would advise to buy extra material and was and dry before sewing. It was supppose to be "dry cleaned" oops it worked for me. Lots of compliments

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this stuff!! I love sewing with the Confetti Dot fabric! I usually use fabric adhesive and adhere it to a cotton fabric and then sew. Always use a new needle and if your doing lots of stitching with it you may want to change your needle often. Spraying with adhesive keeps the fabric from shifting on you. It certainly has lots of "bling" for the buck!! I will say that if you are a beginner this might frustrate you a bit...work with it first so you get the hang of it!
