This pack contains one mechanical fabric pencil with strong ceramic 0.9 mm white lead and 10 lead refills in a reusable storage tube. It is made of water-soluble dyes and is ideal for use on dark fabrics. A soft grip allows you to hold the fabric pencil comfortably. Use it to mark outlines of appliques and embroidery patterns or exact locations of buttons and embellishments on your sewing projects.

Great when it works but expensive when it doesn't!
I have had one of these for years and really liked it for marking on fabric. Because I use both black and white lead, I decided to buy another one so I don't have to keep switching the leads. I went through two in a matter of weeks because the just stopped working. The lead will not advance and I can't refill it either. I am ready to just try a Bic 0.9mm mechanical pencil and see if that works better! There must be a problem with Fons and Porter's quality control.

Best white marking pencil
Seemed a little pricey, but I bought it based on online reviews. Worth every cent! Very fine line but easy to see. Highly recommended!

Best fabric marker that I have found
I love the material that the "lead" is made of. It leaves enough of a mark that will stay visible while I am free motion quilting on a regular machine. But I can't find refills anywhere. Still looking.

Find & Porter Marking Pencil
It worked well for one refill. Now when I add another white refill it doesn't move down into the point and allow any marking. Can I get a replacement pencil?

Great Fabric Pencil
The Fabric Pencil is excellent. The only reason I rated this a 4 vs a 5 is because it's kind of sharp and pointy so you have to be careful because it breaks easily. But the white pen works perfectly on dark fabric.
