Rated 4 out of 5 by from sewing grandma I had a pair of Gingher dressmakers, came in tin box w/cover for blades. we moved and step daughter stole them. purchased this pair, they are nothing like the first pair. They stick while cutting hard to use. so disappointed in these. would love to have another pair like the ones I got in the tin box, they were a dream to use. I loved them.... had always wanted a good pair of scissors, was so happy with the pair that was stolen. I have sewed for the international doll club of the United States. I've made wedding gowns, Fair Queen Dresses, Sewed since I was 5 years old. I know good scissors, from bad ones. This brand is tops. sure wish they still had the ones like I first owned, miss them so much. I've sewed for 52 years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cut great but uncomfortable These are obviously great quality scissors. They cut great. But the handles hurt my hand and they are heavy. Because I sew for a living I had to go back to my cheapo, comfy, orange plastic handled Fiskars. A day working with the metal handled Ginghers nearly gives me blisters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best of the best My last pair was handed down 30 yrs ago by my mom. Have used these for fabric only over those 30 yrs cutting out weekly... take them in for sharping once yrly.. had to bought new ones this yr because after 50 yrs they wore out. Best investment you will make!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best sissors EVER! I have had mine for 25 years. They are the best. They can be sharpened if you feel they get dull. The plastic shaft protects them when I travel to quilting class. They are worth every cent and even better when you can get them on sale at JoAnn's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Knife Edge Indeed! I have been sewing for 19 years and this is the first Gingher shears I have ever used. They are amazing and worth every last penny. I just got them a few days ago and I haven't had any others scissors that compare to how amazingly these cut the fabric flawlessly and without any effort down to the very tip of the shears. I've used them on woven cotton, knit and fleece and they slice right through each one. I won't go back to using any other scissors now!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't cut good I paid a lot for these because I thought they would be great but my old ones are better and they are a cheaper brand. Mine are just lying in a drawer. I wish they would make them good as I am sure some of them are good and I just got the lemon. I have been sewing since I was in high school, ran sewing factories and know a good scissor when I use it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't cut good When I got these scissors, they cut great; for about 8 times. They have not been dropped or abused so they just didn't hold up. I purchased these to cut cloth material with and now they are not even being used. I don't know whether to invest in getting them sharpened or not since they didn't last long the first time. They don't cut any better than the pair I have had for years! Very disappointed in them for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tarnish The scissors do cut well, but in less than 1 year the gold on the handle has begun to tarnish. I am very disappointed because I would rather have plain silver color than ugly tarnished gold.
