Jo-Ann Stores Unicorn Buckram fabric is rated 4.7143 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality Good quality; reasonable price; medium thickness (not too light or too heavy)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not For Costume Eyes Despite the beading picture someone else posted, the weave of the buckram I received is way too tight. It's about as see through as starched quilting cotton. Fursuit makers beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beadwork Gold I use this along with an embroidery hoop to do applique beadwork. It does not stretch and allows me to see my stitches, I found it walking around JoAnns and used it for my own purpose. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from diaper bag I like the buckram for making homemade a diaper bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for bookbinding I use cotton buckram for book repair and bookbinding. It strengthens the spine of the text block and provides "hinges" to attach the text block to the cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for costumes This is the perfect fabric for costumes! Pilgrim costume collars, Queen Anne collars, and Nun's coronets. It pleats well, hold it's shape, and irons easily. Stage makeup removes easily by spot cleaning with a little water and detergent, even though it is a dryclean only fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for crafting too! I have childhood memories of my mom making Christmas candles with this fabric, but I never knew the name of it. I've been all over looking for a woven mesh that was somewhat stiff, but I didn't recall her doing a starching process. I even put the question out on the Internet DIY site with no results. Finally I was taking a walk through one of the super-size JoAnne stores close to home and found it. I was thrilled. It's just right. The candle is made by cutting graduated sizes of octagonal shaped stars with pinking shears, then use a small sprinkling of glitter, and then glue small aurora borealis sequins on each tip. Sweetly nostalgic!
