Don't Use It!!!
Last week I used 3 pkgs of this to make double row borders on an oversize velvet covered headboard frame. First, many of the nails came out of the box already crooked, in one package a number of nails were minus the head and a few heads came off the nail when hammered. A rubber mallet was recommended but this was a definite mistake because only one nail is actually getting hammered so the 4 fake nails get pushed into the fabric which is not desirable. A tack hammer is definitely the way to go.
As one reviewer said, there is corrosion in some sections of the strip. I was already invested in the work before I noticed this so I didn't return it.
The strip comes on a spool. The outer portion is able to be straightened out as you lay it down. However, as the wind on the spool grows smaller the strip actually has to be untwisted as you lay it down. It never really gets straight but is wavy.Wavy borders. Yikes! I had to remove 2 full rows of nails today so I can try to straighten out the borders. Don't know if they will ever be truly straight. I know if the thin metal strips are bent too much the strips will break off.
I had to buy 3 boxes of nails to make up for the bad ones and to do over the 2 rows with the wavy strips.
Also, if you want your project to say amateur all over it... this kit is how you get there!
I have decided to do the best I can and be happy with the results after I try to fix it.
The best recommendation? Don't use it. Use the real nail heads and search for DIY tips online.

easy to use but color is off
The tack strip was a different color than the actual tacks. The strip was more of a bronze and the tacks were polished nickel. I wasn't able to use it for my project.

a little challenging
Maybe it's just me but I have trouble making these stay straight. Good for a Lack hack project, however.
