How To Get It
The Singer Even Feed Walking Foot, also known as a walking foot, makes it much easier to match plaids or stripes and sew several layers of quilting, sewing napped or slippery fabrics. This foot has its own set of feed dogs that work in conjunction with the machines feed dogs to improve the flow of the fabric. It securely grips the top layer or layers of fabric while your sewing machine feeds the fabric from below. Plaids, stripes and quilt layers stay perfectly aligned and leathers, suedes, vinyl and other unstable fabrics flow easily through your machine.

Sadly faulty
Disappointed with this Singer product. The walking foot only has the bar that sits on top of the needle screw. Worked fine for about 2 hours until it started getting stuck in the up position while sewing, which meant the feed dogs didn't move my quilt sandwich through and my stitching was uneven. I researched this problem online and this Singer walking foot is known to have this issue. I ended up ordering a new, different brand walking foot and tying the bar to the needle screw for the time being. Very sad that a well-known brand is making faulty products like this. Won't be buying Singer again!

TWO VERSIONS!
Take note, there are TWO different versions of this walking foot. Singer's website isn't updated with the details for the newer version that has the bar rather than the horseshoe. It installs differently on your machine - the bar goes ON TOP of the screw that holds the needle. Once you get it attached, it works fine.

Satisfaction of performance
I fell in love with this foot from the first stitch. All I have to do is guide and my seams have never been so perfectly straight. I use 2 machines and will be ordering a second.

Great product! The only reason I dinged it one star is because when you sew seams that are folded facing away from you the back foot gets caught in a gap of the back walker foot. Same thing happens if there's a bit of bulk. I need to lift up the foot to flatten out the fabric and get it out of the gap to continue stiching.
