Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I was really looking forward to using this and not having to cut out as many paper patterns, but…….I’m right back to cutting most. As others have said, the pattern selection is horrible. VERY repetitive. Men’s shirts are all same cut, collar and fitted. Not sure why there are SO many dress patterns. The last two times they put out new patterns, the majority of them were dresses…..are women really wearing that many dresses these days???? Was excited to hear a new batch was coming out soon. For the women’s new patterns we got three pants, three shirts, and two of those were long sleeved…..summer is coming, a jumpsuit and 13 dress patterns. And what’s the deal with crop tops? I am beyond disappointed in their pattern selection, especially when you HAVE to pay a subscription price monthly or yearly to use patterns that aren’t even useful. If you want to buy a pattern you will pay double than what you can pay on your own. I have figured out how to stitch patterns together to use the BYOP feature, but it’s pretty useless too with knit fabric since you have to splice EVERY pattern piece, and knit moves around too much. My fingers are crossed that their pattern selection gets better, and maybe the BYOP feature is better when it gets out of beta format. Probably wise they are selling it for $299 now. Glad I didn’t pay the full price of $799, definitely not worth that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never connects My experience with the Ditto is abysmal. No matter what I do it, 9/10 times, gives me errors and REFUSES to connect to anything. I spend 30+ minutes trying to get it to work every time I try to use it, and everytime it ends in tears of frustration and the loss of my will/want to craft. When it does connect it is a miracle and it works decently well. This is a rare occurrence and I am highly disappointed with this product/system. If it would work and connect on a more consistent and reliable basis, I'd rate it higher. On a side note, I am also displeased with the limited variety of patterns available through Ditto brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Let down and angry. I am semi new to sewing. I have made some costumes and a few dresses. I am trying to get more into it and I thought this would solve my biggest hang up ... the time it takes to pin and cut all the patterns and the fact that I could customize the size just sounded so awesome. I was so excited about it that my mom purchased the ditto for me even though I insisted it was too expensive. She just sent it to me and surprised me. I haven't even gotten out of the box and I am so disappointed. If the app is crap, the whole thing is useless. It shows me a third of the patterns that it says it is. Mostly it's just empty space where the pattern is supposed to be. The patterns are extremely basic .... I don't need 50 different patterns to help me make a half circle skirt. Come on. The patterns for kids are minimal and all similar in style. I tried to upload my own pdf and it won't display on the work station. No idea why. It's completely useless to me and I am so disappointed. :( Will be returning ASAP. Joanns and Singer should be ashamed for selling such a terrible product at such a high price!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Useless Without Subscription I enjoy the custom sizing option, but the Ditto patterns included with subscription tend to be mediocre at best. I thought BYOP would make this feel less like a wast of my hard-earned money, only to discover that you can’t use it for BYOP without a subscription. At this point I might as well throw it in the trash because it’s useless, what a rip off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hidden technology costs - be prepared to spend $$$$$ extra After purchase you find that you need a desktop computer for set-up and tablet or phone for use. I have a combo laptop/tablet so thought I was set. But - apparently, the operating system on this device is not supported. So bought inexpensive new Android tablet for use only with this system. I could connect but it would not calibrate (tried like 50 times) though calibrated in same lighting/set-up conditions with iPhone. So then bought a used iPad with updated operating system - which worked. Nowhere are you told that laptop/tablet combos won't work and no one provided reason why a new Android tablet wouldn't work - seems that only Apple products work. Then after you slog your way through set-up, you find out that the Ditto sells patterns for about 30% more than a paper patterns from companies like Style Arc. When questioned, Ditto said the pattern company sets price. Pattern company said they don't increase prices for Ditto. Overall, technology issues result in significant hidden costs. As patterns are limited, more expensive and few are customizable, I am not sure it is worth it. Lastly, unless machine is faulty, you discover AFTER purchase that the system is not returnable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! The BYOP was a game changer for me. I purchased it to use with my pattern making software. No more paper piecing. Easy to set up and use. Calibration simple. Replaced all those useless subscriptions I had with printers/streaming services with the $100 annual fee. The ditto patterns are a plus. Would like to see more of what I like but I am anticipating more to come. I am pleased with the purchase so far!
