THIS PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE
I've happily used this product for years, both professionally and personally -- I'm a Master Designer with more than fifty years' experience in designing and creating wedding gowns, eveningwear, dance/performance costumes, home dec projects, crafts, and fashion clothing. "Wonder Tape" has been a time-saving favorite for every type of project.
Unfortunately, the last thirteen rolls I purchased had to be returned...the tape no longer works properly (the paper won't release the adhesive onto the fabric). A quick check on the internet shows many other users have been having the same problem with their rolls of "Wonder Tape."
Please, Dritz, fix this problem!

Don't use for zippers unless you like to rip seams!
After watching You Tube videos on using basting tape to anchor a zipper for sewing, I thought I'd give it a try. It would have been great if the adhesive had worked, but it just didn't stick. Now I have to rip out the failed sewing and go back to hand basting. Wasted money and wasted trip to buy it.

It’s a NO for me
This product is called wash away when it should be called lifts away. I normally use double-sided basting tape I purchase elsewhere but I ran out in the middle of a project. I drove over to my local Joann store and picked up the Dritz Washaway tape thinking it would work and perform similarly. It doesn’t. It lifts off the fabric fairly easily. And trying to get the paper backing to separate from the tape itself is nearly impossible. I purchased two rolls which to me were expensive for 10 yards each. I’ll be returning them.

more helpful than using pins for brass zippers
Didn't gum up needle. I only used small bits and pieces to keep brass teeth zippers in place for sewing. When I tried using pins, the zippers kept becoming wavy and uneven. As a beginner, I couldn't keep the zippers straight with pins and these wonder tapes helped a great deal. I saw a lady who has an advanced sewing video channel use it in a few of her projects, she made everything looked easy and I tried to go without the tape but ended up using the tape in the end. I didn't even know something like this existed! I wanted something even thinner because the area I was sewing was very thin but this was the thinnest wonder tape I could find and now I have a totebag with a zipper pocket!

Good quilter's tool
Long time user. Wonderful substitute for pinning when binding baby quilts or small sections of large quilts if you are doing quilt-as-you-go. Temporarily holds while sewing. Will eventually wash away.

Because sometimes, pinning just doesn’t work well
Align your zippers and paste small appliqué before stitching without the permanence and rough itchiness of steam-a-seam. Definitely store in a zip lock bag; this stuff has a finite shelf life, and moisture kills. I’ve made it last two years after opening. When it gets old and yellow, it will still stick, but my needle gets sticky going through it, and it’s doesn’t wash out completely.

Awesome!

Makes sewing stretchy fabrics a breeze
Sewing stretchy fabric with a regular sewing machine is a pain, but Wondertape makes it super easy! I've made a dress, a t-shirt and many pillow cases using this stuff and it truly is a wonder!

"Wonder" tape
This product is perfect when you get a good package. Since it is now manufactured in China instead of SC (USA) the quality is a throw of the dice. It sometimes holds, sometimes does not. Also has a strong odor sometimes. I have also had a stickiness on my machine sewing table and on my hands, only removable with rubbing alcohol.

Many uses
I have bought this product many times as I use it to insert zippers hold seams, tack many things while I am sewing. Sometimes I will get a roll that doesn't stick well or that doesn't come of the roll properly, which means loss of product to use. I am using to make my product for retail sale and that takes away from the profit margin.

Great for Sewing Beginners!
I have used this product on everything I have made so far and I love it! It is an awesome product for beginners on the sewing machine who, like me, have a hard time keeping fabrics lined up and in the right spots and, wheni wash my finished product, it does completely wash away!

Just the right stick
I am making kites and the last seam is tricky, but this made it doable. I used double sided tape before but it was too sticky and gummed up the fabric and made assembling the kite difficult. This works just right. I recommend it.

Didn’t stick very well
Others reviews were positive so I tried some of this tape to hold together some knit fabric for sewing. Unfortunately, it didn’t stick well to the knit at all. I was unable to use it to help with the sewing of seams.

I make handbags and do a lot of zipper pockets inserted into bag linings. This stuff is invaluable for getting the zippers to stay put while sewing around them. I also love that it doesnt gum up my needle if I do happen to see through it.

Great tool, but it doesn't wash away!
This tape is great for laying down zippers in particular--they line up so well. However, it does not wash away with the first cleaning, as advertised! I used it to hold down the hem on a jersey top so that I could sew smoothly over it. The results were great, but when I washed the shirt the tape was still there, only hard and lumpy (and no, I didn't put the shirt in the dryer). Very disappointed!

Handy for Bias Tape!
I was trying to apply 1/4" bias tape as a binding for a scout neckerchief, and my pins kept coming loose. Once I used this stuff, I was able to sew the bias tape down in nothing flat!

My best friend!!!
Before I discovered this product, I absolutely hated to install zippers. Once I discovered and used this product, I have yet to put it down. I use it for waistbands, hems and installing zippers. As a matter of fact, every time I go to JoAnn I pick one up. This is an amazing product!!!!!
