  • 2 yds white background fabric
  • 1/4 yd white fabric for A
  • 3/8 yd pink fabric for B
  • 1/2 yd orange fabric for C
  • 5/8 yd yellow fabric for D
  • 3/4 yd green fabric for E
  • 7/8 yd blue fabric for F
  • 1 yd violet fabric for G
  • 2 yd fabric for backing
  • 3/8 yd white fabric for binding
  • 45"x 60" batting
  • Package of Lite EZ Steam II (1/4"x 40 yds)
  • Thread to match fabrics for satin stitching
  • Large sheets of paper to make rainbow patterns
  • Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron and pressing surface
  • Templates

DIRECTIONS:
  1. 42"x 48" Quilt
  2.  
  3. Read all instructions before cutting and sewing.
  4. Cut a piece of background fabric 42 1/2"x 48 1/2". Press.
  5. Make templates A to G, cut out the curved shapes in the appropriate colors as listed.
  6. Starting with A, lay it on the bottom right corner.
  7.  
  8. On the edge of the inner curve of B on the wrong side of the fabric, press a piece of EZ Steam. Peel off the paper and fit B 1/4" over the edge of piece A. Press.

  10. Satin stitch along the curve on top of B with matching thread.
  11. Repeat this with C pressing it 1/4" over B and stitch with matching thread.
  12. Continue with D, E, F and G.
  13.  
  14. When you finish with G, stitch on left edge also.
  15. Layer backing, batting and top. Hand baste together to secure.
  16. Starting at the bottom right corner, machine quilt following the curve 3/4" to 1" apart.
  17. Trim and bind.
