Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this yarn, but buy in-store for accurate color! I love this yearn and have used it for a number of projects. The yarn is soft, durable, and easy to work with. I love all of the colors I've used, but will say that the website photos aren't very accurate for all of the colors. I'd highly recommend checking them out in a craft store or looking up other photos online before purchasing, so you have a better idea of what each color looks like. Otherwise, enjoy! :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Colors are SO off The yarn is nice quality, however the colors are pretty much all off. I bought 8 colors for a project, and only 1 so far is even close to the same as the photo (Haleakala). I will never buy this brand online again without seeing it first. The pictures are a horrible representation of the actual shades.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware Petrified Forest Petrified Forest, by the picture of the website, is supposed to be a light green. What I received is very clearly just silvery grey. I don’t know if it was a label mixup, but if you’re looking for a green yarn, skip this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for knitting beanies! Love working with this yarn. Great stitch definition and creates the perfect canvas for the hikers in the family!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Color not as pictured If you order petrified forest expecting to get a subtle green yarn, then you will have a dissapointment. It is definitely grey, not green. Very dissapointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good yarn, coloring is off Yarn is nice. I ordered petrified Forrest. It’s very much grey, not green so be careful when ordering online due to difference in photographed/monitor screen colors

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great yarn! I made my granddaughter a sweater using Coral Reef. Beautiful color. Easy to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Soft Yarn This is one of my top favorite acrylic yarns! The colors are lovely and in a project you can see it has depth. It's also very soft, in fact some of the softest acrylic yarn I've used and that's why I use it for projects like headbands or handwarmers where it will be in contact with any sensitive skin. I've had minor issues with yarn barf and tangling but I have experienced worse with other yarns. Overall I enjoy the yarn very much, it's so pretty in just about any color. But the last thing I will note is that the pictures online aren't always accurate to the true colors, so I definitely do recommend looking at it in person before buying if possible. I put a picture of some crochet projects I've done in heartland yarn and included the color names, so anyone can see how much it lines up or not with the photos of the skeins. Hopefully that may help!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color is off I was so excited to open this yarn when it was delivered. I bought the color Petrified Forest which I knew would have some gray in it. The color I got isn't even close to what is pictured on the site. I would recommend buying in person if you're looking for a specific color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like the look IF you can get past the knots I love the way this yarn looks and feels, but every skein I’ve gotten is a huge knot in the center. I’ve spent hours and had to cut it into three two separate times. I’ve never experienced a skein with a worse knotting problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colors I’ve used Heartland in numerous projects. Amazing colors. Like a vacation without leaving home. I’ve also combined it with other yarns in afghans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Smoky Mountains -Great Color I bought this last winter and made an afghan. It was easy to work with and turned out so well. It was a gift for a cousin who is fighting cancer. She will often read before going to bed, and covers up with this afghan while she reads. It was the perfect gift for her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful yarn for a lovely wrap pattern I purchased this yarn to make a shawl for a friend for her birthday....haven't started it yet, but I need to get busy, LOL.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very soft, but 2 things..... So I'm working up a cardi in herringbone double crochet, which if you know the stitch takes a little finesse to pull the yarn through at the beginning of the stitch. Well the yarn wants to separate pretty easily, which is frustrating. I don't know that it would bother me much in a different stitch however. Secondly, I have never had yarn barf so tangled in my life. What a nightmare. I'm about to work from the outside of the ball, which I loathe doing, moving forward so I don't have to deal with the barf again. You know, why can't all manufacturers just use the pull tabs at the beginning of the skeins?!!!!! Especially a giant like Lion Brand ... Get off a couple pennies, LB! Geesh

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Yarn, with a warning I love this yarn for so many things! It's soft and durable. I have made hats, fingerless gloves and blankets. Recently I ordered the color Wolf Trap to make a poncho. The photo looks like a tan color. Even on Lionbrand's website the color is described as "heathered dun and almond". (dun definition is "dull greyish brown color"). So it was quite a surprise to see that the color is a dusty rose, or greyish mauve. It is a beautiful color, and I happen to like it. But I know many people who would not appreciate getting a pinkish color when they thought they were getting greyish brown. Lionbrand really needs to go look at their yarn in the daylight, and then change the photos and description. And while they are at it, I think changing the name of the color would be a good idea.... Wolf Trap? really? All the beautiful places that are suggested in the names of all the other colors, and this one is named Wolf Trap. It doesn't evoke a beautiful image. Anyway, I love this yarn, and give it 5 stars with a warning on the one color!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft and drapey This is my favorite inexpensive yarn to make sweaters with, as it creates smooshy, cuddly material. Love the color choices, especially redwood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from usually love this yarn I ordered a large order of this yarn, because I love using it, and some of the colors were not available for me except ordering online and delivery. When I received this order all of the yarn in the box smelled like a combination of bug spray and cigarette smoke, and feels stiffer instead of the nice normal soft feel it usually has.. I can not use it for children items smelling like that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not color shown. Not even close Yarn is soft and nice but I ordered petrified forest which appears a soft grey green sage color. It is a standard cold gray color, no green in sight. I feel like the colors are…NEVER even close to what they are in real life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Campsite Waffle Cardigan I was able to make this gorgeous cardigan by Two of Wands. I did a review of it on my youtube channel, She Tried It! It was such a fun make!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Yarn Words can't describe how much I love this Heartland yarn and its selection of colors. First time I bought this yarn to make a cardigan. The yarn is very soft and it has a nice drape when knitted. Later I bought more skeins in different colors to make more cardigans. It's a good buy!! Lion Brand yarns never disappoint!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Yarn, an utter mess to work with This is a really nice yarn - it's so soft and the colors are lovely. Unfortunately, I've tried to work with multiple skeins, and it's a confusion of knots and split threads. I gave up and used a different yarn. A shame

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TANGLED MESS! It was almost impossible to find the center pull-out to start the yarn. I was crocheting a border so the first round I did from the outside, which any crocheter or knitter knows is a pain. I FINALLY found the center pull-out and it was a tangled mess! The yarn itself is nice, but I am spending more time untangling it than I am crocheting. I do not recommend at all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favourite yarn From the moment I saw this yarn, I was in love with the colour (Redwood). Red is my favourite colour anyway, but this one is stunning: rich and beautiful with subtly different shades mixed in together. Once I used the yarn it became an instant favourite. It's very soft and nice feeling and worked out well for me, even though I am very new to crocheting. I will be trying this yarn in different colours later on for sure

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty yarn, but... I really like the colors and hand of this yarn, but it splits inconsistently in my knitting projects, depending on needle size and method. It fuzzes out some, too, so not sure how long my project will look smooth and finished. Bought it on sale to try, but may not buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweater Weather I got this yarn earlier this year and made a granny square cardigan w/Hood! It’s turned out Wonderfully! Love this cozy soft yarn, with so many beautiful colors! Going to use my other colors soon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misleading Pictures Love the feel of the yarn however the picture for White Sands and Petrified Forest are incorrect. White Sands is a light, silver gray and Petrified Forest is a medium gray with a slight green tint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very soft, splits easily The yarn is very soft, but splits pretty easily. If recommend it for soft toys, clothes, and blankets, but it might be difficult to work with if you're a beginner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly soft Recently purchased this for a cowl scarf and it worked up beautifully and is SO soft. I will be purchasing more of this yarn.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inconsistent The color of this yarn is gorgeous and it's super soft ...my only complaint is that the yarn is not consistent....parts of it are very and thin and then other parts of it are thick
