Ribbons for face mask ties - a bit slippery
I bought these to save me some time making my own bias tape for face masks during the COVID-19 outbreak. They certainly get the job done, and are pretty, but they are a little slippery. I'm back to making my own for now. It was worth a shot!

Grosgrain ribbon
I ordered 9 different colors of 3/8 inch grosgrain ribbon in April. I received 2 colors, plus one color in 1/8 inch width. Oh well, times are tough right now. The ribbon itself is good.

Expected a delay in shipping of my order, 17 days. But also expected to receive what I ordered. I was not notified until 2 weeks after my order that the ribbon was not available. Had I known sooner I could have attempted to order ribbon somewhere else.

Ribbons helpful for ties on masks
The product worked well for ties on masks. A tip for finishing the ends of the ribbon.They can be finished from unraveling by holding them over a tea candle until the ends melt. Then dip in water.

No longer on the shelf.
The products I ordered on-line were no longer available for the associate to add to my order when they finally had time to fill it. I cannot blame Joanne's for this, just the frenzied panic buying of other shoppers. The associate did not find an acceptable substitute for the item as she did not know what I was making.
I was going to use the ribbon as straps for masks. A friend provided elastic for me, so I went that route instead.

Exactly what I ordered
I bought this ribbon to use in place of cloth ties on some of the protective face coverings that I make. They are not too thin and are very comfortable on the skin (although they will leave a small inprint which fades within a couple of hours). My only complaint is that there was no black ribbon available... I will keep looking for it.
