Good machine but no manual
I like this sewing machine so far, it is frustrating that it does not come with a manual, the manual is online which is not handy when trying to also follow a crafting project video. However the video demonstrating use of the product was helpful.

Worst machine I have ever had
I cannot express enough how terrible this machine is. It constantly jams, bobbin knots up and tension is inconsistent. Stitch size does not hold with are sees crooked. I am an experienced sewer- have sewed for over 40 years and have never had so much trouble with a basic machine. The “heavy duty” is a joke as it stalls over thick areas. One project was fine but since then it has been a complete frustration. Total waste of money.

Tension ptoblems
I have had nothing but problems with the tension since I purchased this machine. I have read that the manual recommends a class 15 bobbin, but yet it comes with a 15j. Maybe that is some of the reason why the tension is off. Which one should I use?

82 year old - 70 years of sewing - Loves It !!
I bought this for my mom so she could get back in to sewing after a few life set backs. She’s been seeing nearly her whole life and now at 82 she’s back! And lives this machine.

Do NOT buy
I bought this machine in December of 2022, 8 months ago. It worked ok the first couple times, but then wouldn't thread correctly. I live in the Hoston and the closest warranty repair center is about 40 miles away, each way. I dropped it off for repair and they corrected that issue. Now the tension loosens, unless you work extremely slow. I contacted Singer and their response was basically, good luck because your warranty expired after 90 days. All of this was in poorly written English. This machine is defective and not only will they not fix it, but they don't have any helpful tips or even give a crap. I will NEVER buy another Singer product again. After buying this machine, I was told that Singer was bought by a Chinese company and the quality has suffered. Sadly, that has been my experience. If you take it for repair without the warranty, the repair cost is more than the cost of the machine.

I cannot believe this thing is still being sold. It's had problems straight out of the box. They give you the run around. And I believe they are selling this thing knowing darn well it doesn't work. Someone needs to sue

Try it out in the store first.
I am an experienced sewist and was looking for a basic machine. This machine is not smooth running and I had so much trouble with skipped stitches that after trying everything suggested, I gave up and wanted to return it. I found out I couldn’t because I opened the box! I’ll never buy another machine without trying it out first in the store.

Heavy duty no way
The call this heavy duty, it cannot even see denim.
Very disappointed, I’ve had it too long to return so I’m stuck with this replacement for hand sewing.

A LEMON! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY...
I've been sewing for years and needed a new machine. My mom always used Singer. Upon purchase, was told that it was not returnable if the box was opened. Good- because I wasn't planning on returning! Upon the first sew, the bobbin was having issues: it was getting stuck, jamming. Not sewing. The metal bobbin plate doesn't sit level with the machine. Where I purchased said no return if the box is open. Signer was called. So good it's under warranty! Well... "maybe", so I was told. I was sent directions on how to repair or tighten the bobbin area. Really? It's a brand new out of the box machine from a reputable company. So obviously, they've had this issue before. If that doesn't work (which it didn't), it must be mailed to Los Angeles, CA. On my dime to see if it is actually a warranty issue that can be fixed. That's IF it gets back to them with no other damage caused by mail. Then because they are backlogged, it will take about 4 months for them to even look at the machine.
Now I think understand why (insert major craft company here) doesn't do returns either! If it's difficult for the customer to exchange or have the item fixed under warranty- they probably hare having the same issue of time, cost and customer service! Help.
I'm stuck! I just want to use my new machine and sew. What happened to the awesome quality of Singer and their customer service? This is no longer a brand to trust. :0(

Blew a fuse
I bought this machine several years ago before the pandemic. It worked well for all my basic sewing. (I did not use zigzag). Today the machine blew a fuse (in the machine, not in my house). I could not find an explanation in the manual or online for how to replace the main fuse. There's an awesome video online if your machine is from before 2007. Today, I will replace the machine with the same exact kind because I think that in this case, the fault is with this particular machine and not this product in general. But we shall see. If the new one has a problem, I will be back on here on the double to tell what happened.

Bought this machine did one large project and a few vary small ones. Then went to start a large project and it jumped time and crashed. Was going to try to fix it but the plastic gears in this "heavy duty" machine were stripped.

Great for beginners

I bought this machine last year didn’t open it up to a couple months ago. I believe it is a used machine. It is a very loud it will not adjust the needle position. Makes all kinds of noise. I’m not happy with the machine but I know since I kept it that long and didn’t open it up, they would not exchange it or refund my money

Section where the light is should open freely
I bought this machine last November and another light use one about three years ago and I feel that the threading feature could use an upgrade because if the thread breaks, it goes up in that part of the machine where the light is, and you have to rethread the machine all over from scratch. This feature to the machines are a bother for anyone like me that sews a lot. The older models were made with this section free to just pull to the left and access, without removing a screw. Different to that, the machine is great.

Loving my new Singer products!
I am pleased with the quality of both my new Singer sewing machine and case. I purchased the Heavy Duty 4411 machine and have already used it to repair some clothes. The case is a hard shell cover and is perfect to store my machine while not in use. I would definitely recommend these two products.

Overall Fantastic Machine
I love my Singer Heavy duty sewing machine!!! I had a second hand singer and wanted to upgrade to a newer one. This machine does everything I need it to. It is very easy to thread and I've had zero bobbin issues. Great machine for beginners and seasoned sewers. You won't be disappointed.

Huge disappointment
This machine is such a disappointment. My mother had a singer that lasted decades. This one has barely lasted a year. As others have noted, there are huge issues with the bobbin mechanism. It stops working even on easy projects, leaving clumps of thread everywhere. After only a few uses, mine completely died (the timing is blown) and the bobbin thread will no longer catch. It’s not worth the headaches or the cost to repair.

Have had nothing but trouble
The machine had trouble transitioning between zigzag and straight stitches. I've corrected for every user error, but after awhile I don't think the problem is me. I'm returning the machine.

Can't do everything
It's a good machine but you can't do everything you want to do. No sewing inside a pant leg or the sleeve of a shirt. They need to come up with a break away piece so you can slip a pant leg so you can sew in a circle.

I Take Back my Poor Review
This machine is the BEST for the best value that you can possibly get!!! I had previously written a review for this machine that I wish I could edit. Unfortunately, they do not allow that, so I just have to write a new one. I had purchased this machine and it wouldn't sew through simple nylon strapping and after one use, the timing became off causing me to have to fix it. I wrote a review because I was disappointed. Singer reached out to me after reading my review. We went through multiple steps and they determined what I had suspected - I got a lemon. They replaced my machine and I am so happy I chose the Singer Heavy Duty. I just sewed a zipper on a leather purse I have. Three layers of leather plus the zipper and the needed went through like butter (see attached photos). It sews smoothly and at a fast pace, if need be! I love that I can also adjust the speed when I get to difficult parts by letting off the pedal a bit. My mom had a Singer growing up, which is why I chose this brand. They are reliable. And I'm so glad I chose the heavy duty, because I tend to work on projects that need that extra muscle. I am so happy with this sewing machine that I find myself looking for projects just so I can play around with it! Thank you, Singer - there is a reason you have been around for years!!

Why does this have such great reviews?
I bought this machine and was very excited to use it. First off, the bobbin case is unnecessarily complicated. It does not function nearly as well as a traditional metal bobbin case, and it seems like the plastic was used just to cut costs in production. Second of all, this machine clogs no matter what you do. You can be working on a project and things will be going just fine, and seemingly out of nowhere the bobbin will stop spinning and you will have an ugly lump of thread on your work. I feel like I have tried everything to fix this but it continues to happen everytime I sew. Maybe I just got a bad machine or something but I am majorly disappointed with this purchase.
