Fun fabric but discolors with sweat
Made a fantastic costume, but after two wears in a club setting (so a warm environment where I was sweating a lot), it discolored.
This happened to other parts of the costume, too. Might be due to friction (wiping sweat off with the wrist) not just sweat.
Something to consider if you're making an outfit in which you will be quite active. Two wears for the price might be too expensive for some folks. Probably wouldn't be a good option for leggings or something which rubs regularly.

I love the color shifting on these scales! I use them to make mermaid dresses for my small business and theyre always a huge hit with customers. Not a particularly breathable fabric but it works well as a circle skirt with cotton lycra for the bodice. Lots of body for maximum twirl!

Fabric is beautiful...but
it isn't the easiest to work with. Can't take out stitching mistakes because holes show. Should be pretty skilled to use this fabric. I made some tights and they look beautiful but are not the most comfortable. There is no give to the fabric at all.

Color online makes it look more green
I purchased a yard of this to make my child a Little Mermaid inspired dress - unfortunately, since I couldn't make it to the store I had to trust the online photos to gauge the color. It looks green and purple on multiple screens I checked, but when I picked it up, the color is blue/purple with almost no green tones. Will still use, but for a different project.

Not as dimensional as I had thought. Ordered it online and was expecting more delineation between "scales". With a lot more work I can make it have the full effect that I wanted. The fabric was a bit thinner than I thought it would be. Ordering online is tricky with such things...
