Rit Dye Powder
Rit Dye dyes most fabrics, wood, wicker or any other porous surface. Rit Dye is 1-1/8 ounce except where noted otherwise. Rit Whitener boosts detergents' whitening and brightening abilities wit hout the use of bleach. Use periodically to help keep whites white and colors bright.
Rit Dye works beautifully on many washable fabrics including:
Natural fibers-cotton, linen, silk, wool, ramie blends.
Synthetics-rayon, nylon, acetate.
Blends of fibers where the majority of the fiber is dyeable.
Blends will tint evenly but will not achieve full color.
Rit Dye is not recommended for:
Fabrics with 50% or more polyester content.
100% acrylic, fiberglass, or metallic fibers.
Fabrics with rubber backing (bath mats, throw rugs).
Fabrics with special finishes (water repellent).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Not good for tie dying We bought this dye to tie dye some shirts for a group, and first the dye didn't dissolve properlly even after following all the directions. Then after letting the dyed shirts sit for over a day, we rinsed and washed them but the dye came out/ran with the other color we used. I would not recomend this dye at all

Rated 5 out of 5 by cynthia from Rit Dye is Wonderful I highly recomend Rit Dye. I dyed slipcovers for a full size sofa, love seat, club chair and otterman. It was very faded denim blue almost shades of white, I used royal blue powder and the washer machine method and they now look brandnew! Great stuff!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sissy from Not good for overall color I tried to use the powder dye using the washing machine method on a pair of linen pants. The color looked like it had come out perfect at first but it turned out it was horribly streaked! The tye dye effect may be fun for some modern wear but I was trying to dye a pair of pants for re-enactment purposes. I ended up using the liquid which worked beautifully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rainbow from Color Me Delighted I've used dozens of different colors on an array of fabrics. Many times I've had wonderful results. Sometimes, less than wonderful. Sometimes streaking and a tie-dye effect, which I'm not necessarily going for. But these dyes offer inexpensive, reliable, and delightful ways to change one's wardrobe--without leaving the house!
